We’re excited to announce the addition of two new members to the Princeton Hydro team!
Megan joins Princeton Hydro with over 15 years of strategic planning, business operations, and project management experience in both the for-profit and nonprofit sectors. As a true guru in optimizing operational efficiencies and systems, she works closely with senior leadership on team building, cross-collaboration, and organizational strategy to implement Princeton Hydro’s vision.
Megan brings a wealth of executive leadership experience from her previous role as the Chief Operations Officer for Modern Recycled Spaces, a growing redevelopment company that specializes in repurposing old, abandoned mills or industrial facilities into modern workspaces. Serving in a leadership role across multiple business disciplines (operations, finance, acquisition, construction, property management, and logistics), she consistently delivered large-scale capital projects on time and on budget.
On the nonprofit side, Megan worked for Isles, Inc., a Trenton-based nonprofit community development and environmental organization, where she managed a host of environmental programs such as brownfields job training, low-income housing conditions assessments and the impact on children's health, lead safe housing policy reform, asthma education, green job training, and community gardening. She also served as a Fundraising Consultant for The Friends of Ely Park, a volunteer-based, nonprofit working to revitalize and protect the City of Lambertville’s only dedicated green space.
A recent Bloomsburg University graduate, Patrick is excited about applying his degree in Environmental Biology to his work with Princeton Hydro. Patrick enjoys boating and fishing, which drives his passion for protecting waterbodies and helping to keep them clean.

We’re excited to announce the expansion of our growing business with the addition of two new team members who have experience and qualifications in water resource management.
Robert is a passionately curious water resources engineer who is determined to use his knowledge and experience to provide the best possible outcomes for our clients in every one of his projects. Robert received his degree from the University of Delaware, with a major in Environmental Engineering and a Minor in Civil Engineering. While in school, he was involved heavily in the research conducted at the University's Water Science and Policy department. After schooling was finished, he used his degree to work on various engineering projects including subsurface geotechnical investigations, hydrologic and hydraulic modeling of water conveyance systems, stormwater BMP design, as well as the complete design, modeling, and supervision of Green Infrastructure Systems.
Outside of work, Robert is an avid outdoor enthusiast. He enjoys kayaking, hiking, and skiing in the Adirondacks during the winter.
Mark is a Civil Engineer and Certified Floodplain Manager with extensive experience in both the public and private sectors. His areas of expertise include stormwater management, hydrologic and hydraulic studies, sustainable design, utility design, and land development. Mark has served as a lead engineer, project manager, and construction manager for a variety of large-scale and small-scale residential land development projects, transportation improvement projects, and utility infrastructure projects. He is passionate about protecting our water supply and our environment and enjoys working on complex, challenging projects that benefit our natural resources.
With four kids at home, Mark does not have much free time. If he does catch a break from the action, you can find him with his head in a book, sitting behind a chessboard, or gazing at the stars and planets through his telescope.

As our Director of Field Operations and Field Office Manager, Scott and his team are responsible for providing pond and lake management and invasive species control services. Scott is an expert in species identification and determination of appropriate treatment response and adaptive management techniques. He is a licensed pesticide applicator in five states and has managed the treatment of nuisance aquatic and terrestrial plants at hundreds of sites totaling more than 1,000 acres. His experience also includes the design, installation and maintenance of aeration systems, the implementation of water quality and biological sampling programs, erosion control plans, and shoreline aquascaping projects.

Laura, our Director of Natural Resources, is an aquatic ecologist and restoration practitioner with specific expertise in aquatic ecology, river restoration theory and practice (especially dam removal), nutrient dynamics, and climate adaptation. She is a big picture thinker with extensive experience in science communication, strategic planning, metrics and evaluation, project and budget management, policy, fundraising, and public engagement. Laura is passionate about identifying and improving how we manage existing and emerging threats to rivers.

As our Chief Financial Officer, John leads our financial operations and provides overall strategic direction across the firm. John has more than 25 years of experience in financial analysis, strategic planning, business operations, and marketing strategy. He has worked at an array of globally-recognized companies, including Dun & Bradstreet, American Express, MasterCard, and Barclays. He specializes in financial forecasting, enhancing marketing performance through analysis and competitive intelligence, and developing strategic frameworks on how to lead corporate-wide initiatives.

Clay is our Director of Stormwater Management & Green Infrastructure. His expertise includes a substantial amount of critical overlap between engineering and environmental science. Hydrologic and hydraulic analysis, stormwater management and infiltration, nonpoint source pollution, watershed modeling, groundwater hydrology/modeling, and water quality and quantity monitoring are a few of the areas Clay specializes in. Additionally, Clay is an adjunct professor at Rowan University and he regularly teaches continuing education seminars and presents at events throughout the country.

As our Director of Aquatic Resources, Fred manages a variety of lake and watershed restoration projects. Fred has extensive experience in lake and watershed management, restoration ecology, community and ecosystem ecology, cyanobacteria biology, and the use of benthic macroinvertebrate and fish in-stream bioassessment protocols. He is a committed speaker and educator and has given countless presentations over the years for organizations throughout the country, including the New York State Federation of Lake Associations, North American Lake Management Society, the Cary Institute, and as an adjunct professor at DelVal University's Environmental Studies program. Fred was recently featured in a Washington Post story about climate change and the impacts it's had on Lake Hopatcong, specifically.

Samara brings over ten years of human resources and management experience to her position as our Employee Relations Manager. She has worked as a business partner and advisor in various sectors, from finance to retail. Her hands-on experience includes researching and resolution of complex human resources related issues, recruitment process management, HRIS implementation, representation at unemployment hearings, creation of EEOC position statements, leading and administering open enrollment initiatives, as well as management coaching and training.

Dana is a passionate environmental communicator who brings to her position as our Director of Marketing and Communications a strong mix of diverse stakeholder engagement experience, coupled with values-based communication strategy. She specializes in branding, marketing, and digital media strategy, and strives to enhance the mission and values of Princeton Hydro. She earned her Master of Environmental Management from Yale University’s School of Forestry and Environmental Studies where she focused on strategies for climate change and wildlife conservation communication. Dana is an active volunteer for a variety of organizations, including Society of American Military Engineers (SAME) New Jersey Post, which recently presented her with an award for her efforts.

Dr. Laura “LC” Craig is an aquatic ecologist and restoration practitioner with more than ten years of experience working in river conservation both as the chief scientist at a national environmental nonprofit and as a restoration practitioner. She is a big picture thinker with extensive experience in science communication, strategic planning, metrics and evaluation, project and budget management, policy, fundraising, and public engagement. Laura’s specific areas of scientific expertise are aquatic ecology, river restoration theory and practice (especially dam removal), nutrient dynamics, and climate adaptation. Laura also has a keen interest in improving how we manage existing and emerging threats to rivers. Laura earned a B.S. in Biology from Susquehanna University and a PhD in Aquatic Ecology from University of Maryland-College Park.
Laura lives in Palmyra, New Jersey where she serves on Borough Council and the Land Use Board. In her free time, Laura goes to punk rock shows with her husband and relaxes on the beach in Asbury Park.
Lori has a diverse professional background which includes acting as an animal health technician, Director of Children’s Programming for a community organization, human resource generalist, executive assistant and as an office manager. Her well-rounded experience has effectively utilized her creativity, organizational skills, attention to detail and strength at building relationships. Lori is thrilled to play a supporting role for a company that is making a positive impact on our environment.
Outside of work, Lori enjoys spending time with her family, climbing, gardening and volunteering with various charitable organizations that pull at her heartstrings.
Jerry has experience in the stormwater, wastewater, and subsurface mapping. Prior to coming to Princeton Hydro, he worked as an Intern with the Economic Geology Division at the Pennsylvania Department of Energy using geophysical logs from abandoned oil and gas wells to map subsurface stratigraphy in the Western Regions of Pennsylvania. Jerry graduated in 2018 with a Bachelors in Earth and Environmental Science from Lehigh University. As an undergraduate, in addition to extensive geology and ecology related coursework, including extensive work involving the remote sensing of aquatic and terrestrial ecosystems, he completed a six-week geological field camp based in the Northern Rockies, Bighorn Basin, Tetons, Yellowstone, Montana and Idaho gaining a deep understanding of the natural world from basin to mountaintop.
Jerry has a passion for fishing, hiking and being outdoors with his wife and dog. He prides himself on being an environmental steward working to conserve, preserve, and restore nature so it can be enjoyed by future generations.
Tim is a member of Princeton Hydro’s Field Operations Practice Area. He has ten years of experience working on the water. He is a U.S. Coast Guard veteran and served active duty from 2000-2005 as a Machinery Technician. For several years, Tim worked in emergency and marine spill response. He also has experience working with water quality analyzers as a Service Technician in the Power Generation field.
Outside of work, Tim enjoys being outdoors, seeing live music, going to the movies, and spending time with his wife and cats. He is also a drummer and illustrator in his spare time.

Princeton Hydro's Marketing and Communications Manager Dana Patterson was presented with the Society of American Military Engineers (SAME) New Jersey Post's "Young Member Award" for her efforts in maintaining and advancing the objectives of the organization.
The mission of SAME is to build leaders and lead collaboration among government and industry to develop multidisciplinary solutions to national security infrastructure challenges. Princeton Hydro joined SAME as a sustaining member in 2018, and actively supports the organization and its goals.
Ms. Patterson has been active with the New Jersey Post since joining Princeton Hydro in October of 2018, and was elected into the SAME New Jersey Post Board of Directors Secretary position in Summer of 2019. In addition to her board role, she is an active member of the SAME NJ Post Small Business Council and assists with the organization's social media marketing.
"I am honored and humbled to accept this award from the SAME New Jersey Post. It has been rewarding to collaborate with such a dedicated group of volunteers who share insights and ideas on business development, leadership, and federal opportunity tracking, while also empowering youth to participate in the STEM field," said Ms. Patterson. We’re excited to announce the hiring of a new employee and the promotion of a member of our Field Operations team.
Jennifer works in our Glastonbury, CT location assisting with office coordination and administrative tasks. She is skilled in data visualization and graphic design, and enjoys working with our wonderful team of scientists, engineers, specialists, and people passionate about the environment and outdoors.
In her free time, she enjoys hiking, kayaking, crafting, and design. She is also passionate about local land and fiber, and spends time knitting and organizing wool farmers in the region.
Jacob began with Princeton Hydro as a part-time staffer and is now a full-time member of the Aquatics Field Services Practice Area. His daily responsibilities include a variety of field tasks, including the treatment of lakes and ponds for hazardous algal blooms, the treatment/removal of invasive plant species, and the installation of fountain and/or aeration systems for sustainable water management. Working on the field operations team has given Jacob an opportunity to learn about the environmental science field, and he hopes to continue to grow his experience into a successful and bright future with the firm.
Born and raised at the Jersey Shore, Jacob enjoys spending time at the beach. He also enjoys cooking.
Princeton Hydro is participating in lots of interesting events this Spring; here's a snapshot of what's to come:
Celebrate Earth Day a few days early with a fun Jersey Shore volunteer event! The American Littoral Society, in partnership with Princeton Hydro, Borough of Point Pleasant, and the local Rotary Club, is organizing dozens of volunteers to restore the shoreline and prevent further erosion at the Slade Dale Sanctuary using recycled Christmas trees, a technique that is groundbreaking for New Jersey. Help us transport donated/recycled Christmas trees to the marsh to breakwater sections, stuffed them between the pilings, and securely tie them down. The volunteer is from 10 AM to 4 PM and water and light refreshments will be served. Dress to get wet and mess and don't forget to bring sunscreen, lunch, and waders (if you have them!). Street parking is available along Sea Point Drive.
We're celebrating Arbor Day with Friends of Exton Park! Join us on Thursday, April 25 for a bird walk and native tree and shrub planting. During the bird walk, which runs from 8:30 - 10:30 am, we hope to spot spring migrants. Planting will take place between 10:30 am and 12:30 pm, and then lunch will be provided.
We hope you'll join us for a fun and productive day in Exton Park. Birders and nature enthusiasts of all skill levels are welcome!

The program consists of networking opportunities, a variety of speakers, and breakfast (of course!). SAME gives leaders from the A/E/C, environmental, and facility management industries the opportunity to come together with federal agencies in order to showcase best practices and highlight future opportunities for small businesses to work in the federal market.
New York State Federation of Lake Associations (NYSFOLA) will host its 36th Annual Conference May 3-4 at the Fort William Henry Conference Center in Lake George. This year’s conference, which is titled, “Empowering Lake Associations in Challenging Times,” will feature a diverse exhibitor hall, networking opportunities, a silent auction and a variety of educational sessions. Princeton Hydro is exhibiting and giving presentations on the following topics:
Hosted by the nonprofit Sustainable South Jersey, the Sustainable South Jersey Earth Festival is the largest eco-event in the region, drawing 5000 visitors annually. This year’s festival is themed "Reduce Plastic – Fantastic!" and will feature a family-fun bike ride, musical entertainment, perennial native plant swap, exhibits from a variety of earth-friendly, eco-conscious vendors, outdoor arts & crafts, and more. Admission is free and everyone is welcome to attend. Advanced registration is required for the family-fun bike ride. Our Communications Strategist Dana Patterson recently joined the board of Sustainable South Jersey, and will be hopping around the event. We hope to see you there!
We’re excited to welcome two new staff members and seven new part-time staff & interns to our team who are spread throughout our Ringoes, Sicklerville, and Glastonbury offices.
Kelsey is a recent graduate of St. Lawrence University with a degree in English and environmental studies and a passion for environmental communication. Through her extracurricular work with various nonprofit organizations, she has developed expertise in social media management, content writing, storytelling, and interdisciplinary thinking. Kelsey believes that effective communication needs to be multi-faceted, which is reflected in the diversity of her experience. She served as Photography Editor of St. Lawrence University’s newspaper, worked in digital media for the environmental outreach program of St. Lawrence University, produced stories for Northern New York’s public radio station, and developed feature content for St. Lawrence County’s Chamber of Commerce. As a member of the Princeton Hydro team, she aims to further its mission by taking creative approaches to communicating about our shared home: Planet Earth. In her free time, Kelsey enjoys dancing of all sorts, going on long walks with her camera, and spending time with friends and family in nature.
Christine is a detailed-oriented Accounting Assistant who has over 15 years of experience working in office administration for local businesses. She loves vacationing in Jamaica with her husband and spending time with her two sons & three grandchildren. In her free time, she listens to country music and visits new cities like Nashville.
Heidi is an aquatic ecologist and evolutionary biologist with a strong background in fish monitoring, aquatic habitat assessment, population and community ecology, and population genetics and genomics. She holds a PhD in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology and a Master of Science in Forestry and Wildlife Biology. In addition to her ecology expertise, Heidi has experience in GIS analysis, R statistical programing, scientific writing, permitting, and a wide range of field and laboratory techniques. Prior to joining Princeton Hydro, Heidi worked as a postdoctoral researcher with The Woods Hole Research Center, The Marine Biological Laboratory, and The University of Connecticut, where she continues to serve as adjunct faculty to the Department of Ecology and Evolutionary Biology. She investigated ecological and evolutionary responses of fish populations to rapid environmental change. Her professional experience also includes coordinating field expeditions in remote locations of the Alaskan Arctic, tagging and tracking thousands of fish through remote PIT-tag antenna arrays, using environmental DNA to monitor fish presence and movement, and developing experiments to assess ecosystem responses to change. She enjoys raising ducks, swimming in cold rivers, hiking, kayaking, camping, and family.
Andrew Greenlaw is in his fourth year at the University of Connecticut, majoring in Civil Engineering with a minor in Environmental Engineering. Before studying engineering he taught at a Marine science summer camp in Groton, CT, off of the Long Island Sound. He joined Princeton Hydro with the hope of combining his biological sciences experience with his academic engineering knowledge. He enjoys hiking, fishing, and just about any outdoor sport.
Ryan is a double major at Rowan University focusing in both Civil & Environmental Engineering and Computer Science, and is currently finishing his final semester. He's worked on various engineering clinic projects ranging from developing a pavement analysis program for Rhode Island DOT to a feasibility study to assist those with disabilities. His current project is to develop a home security/monitoring system with an accompanying mobile application. In the future, Ryan hopes to develop civil engineering applications for use by design engineers, and hopes that with his unique skillset he can make future engineers' jobs easier and more efficient. Ryan enjoys playing baseball, listening to music, hiking and hanging out with friends and family.
Nick graduated in 2017 from Western State Colorado University with a B.S. in Biology. He lived and worked at Rocky Mountain Biological Laboratory studying defense genotypes of B.stricta under Duke University’s Tom Mitchell-Olds Lab in 2016 and 2018. At RMBL, He also assisted in trapping and banding of Mountain White-Crowned Sparrows. He enjoys cycling, hiking, and birding!
Emily is a recent graduate from Stockton University, with a BS in marine biology, and a minor in environmental science. She just finished up an internship with the American Littoral Society at Sandy Hook, where she helped manage the fish tagging program and educating others on the importance of maintaining an accurate fisheries database. She has experience in both freshwater and marine ecosystem management and is excited to continue learning about ecological restoration and management. She is very interested in ecosystem resilience, specifically climate change and how it affects estuaries and estuarine organisms. Emily is hoping to attend graduate school in the near future to further her studies in marine science.
Pat got interested in aquatics during a summer course studying at Lake Atitlán, Guatemala as an undergraduate at SUNY Oneonta. After graduation, he spent a year volunteering with AmeriCorps in Knoxville, TN as part of a Water Quality Team. While in Tennessee, he spent the majority of his time educating high school students on how to protect and improve local waterways and watersheds as part of the Adopt-A-Watershed program. The year, through AmeriCorps, he also worked with government organizations performing biological sampling and erosion monitoring in local streams. Pat is set to graduate from SUNY Oneonta with a M.S. in Lake Management in December. He created an interim lake management plan for a small reservoir in New York that has had cyanobacterial blooms over the past few years. Pat spent this past summer completing a co-op with an aquatic plant management company in the Pacific Northwest, working primarily with invasive Eurasian and hybrid watermilfoil populations.

John has a wealth of experience in financial analysis, strategic planning, business operations, and marketing strategy. As Controller and Financial Strategist for Princeton Hydro, he will oversee all finances and will work directly alongside our executive team to develop business strategies.
John has worked with an array of globally recognized companies, including Dun & Bradstreet, American Express, MasterCard, and Barclays. He specializes in financial forecasting, creating financial models and competitive intelligence reporting to enhance business understanding, developing strategic framework for how to manage initiatives across multiple constituents, and enhancing marketing performance through analysis. John has a BA in Political Science and an MBA in Marketing and Operations Management, both from Columbia University.
John lives in New Hope, PA, with his two children. When not attending swim meets and archery tournaments, John can be found cycling and attending music events throughout the Philadelphia area.
Casey recently joined our team as a full-time Hydrologist/Fluvial Geomorphologist after several years of outside consulting for Princeton Hydro through his company Rivers Unlimited. He has over twenty years of experience in hydrology, hydraulic studies, geomorphology, river restoration design, river stabilization design, habitat improvement and watershed management/restoration. Throughout his career, he has continually developed bank stabilization, habitat improvement, and river restoration design techniques and construction approaches using natural materials, which provide projects with a more natural looking aesthetic. He strives to make all completed projects enjoyable places for relaxation, recreation and connection with the natural environment.
We’re excited to welcome Paul back to the Princeton Hydro team! He started in 2003 and took a brief hiatus to care for his daughter. With a focus on aquatic ecology, Paul will utilize his extensive experience to design and implement watershed-scale studies, develop management and restoration plans, and implement various water resource management strategies. Paul specializes in lake ecology with interests in fisheries, macroinvertebrates, aquatic macrophytes, plankton, and watershed and hydrology modeling. When he’s not working, Paul enjoys bird watching and fishing.
Jake is a passionate engineer whose personal interests align well with his professional interests to restore habitat and natural functions of aquatic systems. As a Water Resources Engineer for Princeton Hydro, Jake assists in hydrologic and hydraulic modeling, project design, drafting and construction management on ecological restoration projects. Before joining the team, Jake worked in the energy sector to support energy efficiency by evaluating the efficiency portfolios of utility companies. Jake graduated as an Engineer from Harvey Mudd College, where he was highly involved in campus sustainability projects. Outside the office, Jake loves to be outdoors doing all types of fun activities.
As a Water Resources Engineer, Angela has joined the team to work on a variety of restoration projects. Before coming to Princeton Hydro, she received her M.S. in Environmental Engineering at the University of Alabama, where she performed graduate research with the USDA. She studied land surface management on water budgets in agricultural regions of Tennessee, and quantitative impact of weather modification on streamflow in the North Platte River in Wyoming. Outside of the office, Angela enjoys Crossfit, playing tennis, and hiking with her dog, Albus.
Casey joins the team as a staff engineer with a focus in water resources engineering. A graduate from Virginia Tech in 2018 with a degree in Biological Systems Engineering, Casey has experience in ecological restoration, flood management, water quality analysis, and best management practices. His experience also includes construction oversight for dam removal and restoration projects, and design, technical writing, and drafting for a variety of water resources engineering projects. In his free time, Casey enjoys hiking, skiing, and camping.
