Princeton Hydro President Geoffrey Goll, PE was appointed to the Rutgers University School of Engineering Industry Advisory Board (IAB).
The IAB, an external consultative group supporting the Dean of the School of Engineering, serves a critical role in linking the School’s strategic objectives and activities with the interests of external constituents and industry groups. It is composed of industry leaders, including Rutgers alumni and members of the research and engineering communities served by the School of Engineering.
Geoff holds a B.S. in Civil Engineering from Rutgers University (Class of 1990) and a Master of Engineering Management degree from UW–Madison. He brings to the board valuable water resources engineering and geotechnical engineering expertise, including sediment management, stream and river restoration, stormwater management and green infrastructure, freshwater wetland/coastal marsh design, dam design, and dam removal.
The Nominating Committee, which is comprised of at least four members of the Board and overseen by the Dean, is responsible for evaluating candidates for IAB membership, appointing new members, and advising IAB members of the conclusion of their terms. When evaluating candidates, the Nominating Committee considers how the member would bring value to the board by increasing representation of diverse perspectives on the board, including generational and geographic diversity, cultural background and ethnicity, gender, and academic and industry affiliation and experience.
During their three-year term, board members meet four times annually to review current issues at the Engineering School, discuss strategic priorities, and work on committee and Board projects. As ambassadors and advocates for the School, IAB members play a key role in forging mutually productive alliances between the School of Engineering and business. They promote a culture of philanthropy, actively seek opportunities to broaden the School’s network, and participate in strategic initiatives and events.
As part of Geoff’s role on the IAB, he was invited to participate as a panelist during the Rutgers University Urban Environments Symposium for a discussion titled, “The Role of Engineering Innovations and Government-Industry-Academe-Community Collaboration in Meeting Urban Environments Challenges.” The Symposium, presented by Rutgers University’s School of Engineering and its School of Environmental and Biological Sciences, brought together government, industry, community and academic thought leaders for a high-level exchange of ideas.
