Geoffrey M. Goll, PE, Princeton Hydro President, has been honored with a "Lifetime Achievement Award" from the New Jersey Highlands Coalition. This prestigious award recognizes individuals who have dedicated their careers to protecting and enhancing New Jersey’s environmental, cultural, and natural resources, with a particular focus on the Highlands region.

"It’s an incredible honor to be recognized by the Highlands Coalition," said Geoffrey. "Protecting water resources and restoring critical habitats has always been at the core of what drives me, so it is deeply meaningful to be awarded by an organization that shares that same commitment."
A licensed Professional Engineer in nine states, Geoffrey has over 30 years of experience designing and implementing complex engineering projects that blend ecological restoration with innovative water resource solutions. He has led 50+ dam removals and hundreds of environmental restoration efforts across the Northeast—many of which have directly improved water quality, habitat connectivity, and ecological health within the Highlands region.
Geoffrey was recognized alongside fellow honoree Stuart Lieberman, Esq., founding partner of Lieberman Blecher & Sinkevich, a law firm widely respected for its work in environmental and land use law. Stuart’s legal advocacy has advanced the protection of New Jersey’s natural landscapes, making him a well-deserving co-recipient of this year’s "Lifetime Achievement Award."

The awards were presented during the Highlands Coalition’s 10th Annual Golf Outing at Hawk Pointe Golf Club in Warren County. Known for its eco-conscious design and innovative water management technologies, Hawk Pointe provides a fitting backdrop for a day focused on conservation. The outing featured 18 holes of golf, the Coalition’s signature “Empanadas on the Green,” a silent auction, and the celebratory luncheon awards ceremony. Several members of the Princeton Hydro team, a proud event sponsor, participated in the golf outing and the day's festivities.

The Highlands Coalition works to protect and conserve New Jersey's Highlands region to ensure a sustainable future for generations to come, and Princeton Hydro is honored to support their mission. For over a decade, the two organizations have partnered on regulatory compliance reviews, environmental impact analyses, stormwater management projects, and community-focused stewardship initiatives.

At the New Jersey Highlands Coalitions’ Seventh Annual Golf Outing this week, Princeton Hydro’s Co-founder and Vice President Mark Gallagher was presented with a Lifetime Achievement Award. The award recognizes an exceptional professional career and/or lifetime of work spent protecting the environmental, cultural, natural, and scenic resources of the State of New Jersey, in particular in the New Jersey Highlands.
“It is truly an honor to receive this award,” said Mark Gallagher. “ I am grateful for the opportunity to partner with such an awesome organization dedicated to protecting the New Jersey Highlands landscape, and I look forward to continuing our work together.”
Mark is a pioneer in the field of restoration ecology, and helped get the conservation science movement off the ground in the 1980s. For more than two decades, he has overseen wetland and terrestrial ecology projects at Princeton Hydro, including many complex restoration projects that require unique solutions. He is extremely knowledgeable about local, state, and federal regulations, especially when it comes to ecological impact. Mark has made a positive impact on water quality and wildlife, designing and permitting hundreds of acres of restoration, mitigation, and enhancement projects throughout the Northeast.
“Mark is passionate about his work. He is smart and creative and a true pleasure to work with,” said Julia Somers, Executive Director of the NJ Highlands Coalition. “We all appreciate his expertise, knowledge, kindness towards others, and his generosity of his time.”

The NJ Highlands Coalition aims to protect, enhance and promote the vital water and other natural and cultural resources of the New Jersey Highlands to sustain current and future generations. New Jersey Highlands Coalition honored Dr. Stephen Souza, a Founding Principal of Princeton Hydro, with a Lifetime Achievement Award during its 4th Annual Golf Outing held on May 16 at the Hawk Pointe Golf Club. The organization awarded Dr. Souza for his dedication to preserving and protecting New Jersey’s watersheds and natural resources, and the significant improvements he’s made to water quality throughout the state.
“Of all the hydrologists, limnologists, and environmental engineers practicing in New Jersey today, I venture to say none have had the positive impact on New Jersey's lakes and rivers that Steve has," said Julia M. Somers, New Jersey Highlands Coalition Executive Director, when presenting the Lifetime Achievement Award to Dr. Souza. "He has personally lifted the level of knowledge and expertise needed to successfully manage, mitigate, and protect our water resources to a much higher and better place than ever before, and we owe him a huge vote of gratitude and thanks. Steve always tells his clients the truth and is uncompromising in protecting the resource. It is a pleasure to present this award to Steve today.”
When accepting the award, Dr. Souza said, “I am truly humbled by this award, and extend my sincerest thanks to everyone here today. More important than coming out for a day of golf and relaxation, is that the funds raised today will help continue to support the Coalition's efforts to protect the Highlands region's fragile ecology and surface and groundwater resources."

The golf outing was a scramble format with a shotgun start. In addition to golfing, the event included visual media seminars and a photo contest.
