S Steven Crisp 1 month ago We’re looking for ways to deal with excessive Phosphorus in our 54 acre pond. Biochar was one possibility, but I’m intrigued by the Floating wetland Islands (FWIs). A couple of questions. 1) what do you do with the FWIs over the winter? Are they only good for the spring/summer/fall? Do you leave them in the pond over the winter and do they survive? Or something else. 2) have you been able to quantify the benefit from the FWIs? Reduced P levels? Reduced HABs? Over what timeframe? Any insights into best locations for FWIs? Perhaps in tributaries? Perhaps just beyond the inlets of the pond? Have you noted any impact to pond-based plant life around (or under) the FWIs? Would you have any videos of the process of making and installing the FWIs? I’d really like to know more. Thank you!
